VIRGINIA BEACH — Authorities have opened an investigation after a man was found dead Wednesday morning from a gunshot wound, police said.
Officers were dispatched around 11 a.m. to the 500 block of Rodney Lane, near the street’s intersection with Lancelot Drive. That address is in the Avalon Terrace neighborhood near Interstate 64.
Responders found an unidentified man with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead, a Virginia ӽ紫ý Police Department spokesperson said. Officers were called out on a report of a gunshot wound.
As of 2 p.m., law enforcement was on the scene, but “they had contained any community threat,” the spokesperson said.
