We鈥檝e all been there. It鈥檚 Friday night and you鈥檙e hungry but don鈥檛 feel like cooking. You and your spouse/friends/family want to enjoy a relaxed dinner out together. Maybe somewhere with a beautiful view. Or a great happy hour. Or delicious crabcakes.
So you spend the next 40 minutes trying to decide where to go and end up wondering if eating cereal from the pantry would just be easier.
Never fear, Hampton Roads! This month, we are launching the Let鈥檚 Eat guide, an online database designed to help you decide which restaurants you should try next. The guide is broken down by cuisine type, cost and location, and focuses on locally owned places (rather than chain restaurants). We included spots we’ve featured across Hampton Roads, as well as Williamsburg and the Outer Banks.
To find a restaurant, simply click on the box on the upper left side of the map below to bring down the menu of cuisine choices. Or, you can search for places near you on the map.
The average price of the entrees is denoted by dollar signs: $ (light green on the map below) is less than $20; $$ (dark green) = $20-$30; $$$ (yellow) = $30-$40; $$$$ (orange) = $40 and more.
Restaurants in the guide are listed by locality or region, then in alphabetical order. We intend to continually update this guide so if you don鈥檛 see your favorite spot there now, it may be on the way.
Hampton Roads is rich with wonderful restaurants, from sandwich shops and pubs to ethnic food and fine dining. So, let鈥檚 eat!
