The Norfolk Greek Festival starts Thursday under a big tent at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 7220 Granby St., across from Granby High School. Eat authentic food — including the popular loukoumades — and enjoy music and entertainment for four days. Loukoumades, Greek doughnuts,are deep-fried dough balls soaked in honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds.

When: 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6-ish p.m. Sunday

The Newport News Greek Festival begins May 29 at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at 60 Traverse Road, off J. Clyde Morris Boulevard near Interstate 64. It will have dance performances, church tours and shopping in the marketplace. The festival hasn’t released a menu yet but posted on social media that revani, a semolina cake soaked in syrup, will be a new item.

Online food ordering starts two hours before doors open each day. First pickup will be 30 minutes after doors open. Scheduled pickup times will be on receipts.
